Most of us tend to think that we are part of the greatest generation that has ever existed. To be certain, there is something about each generation that is awesome and I’m sure that is the truth. Then again, if we take a look back to prior generations, we are likely to see something that is just as awesome or perhaps maybe something that we would want to have in our own life. Sometimes, generations may even overlap with each other because of family and friendship that tie us together. We may not have been around when something particular was happening, but we still appreciate it just as much because those we love appreciated it.
Perhaps something that changes from one generation to the next more than anything else is music. If you think back just a few years ago, you can see the changes that have occurred in this form of entertainment. Looking back a couple of decades or more, you see that many of the changes are profound. We still have the same genre of music in many cases but the people that are singing it changes in how they sing it from one generation to another. That is evident in country music, and there have been many legends in that genre that have stood the test of time. Even though some of them have passed away many years ago, their music still is recognizable and just as great as it was when they first sang it.
If you go back several decades, the vast majority of the country music singers were men. They include singers such as Hank Williams, Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings. There were also some female singers from a number of years ago, but one that really stands out is Patsy Cline. Her career may have been short, but she had some songs that are still recognizable down to this day.
When you watch the video below, you will see Patsy Cline singing her signature song, ‘I Fall to Pieces’. It was perhaps her greatest contribution to the music industry during her brief career. Unfortunately, a plane crash took her life when she was on her way to a concert where many famous people were appearing. Patsy Cline may be gone, but she is not forgotten. You can see her singing ‘I Fall to Pieces’ in the following video:
