Outback Workers Scribble Note On Cop’s Receipt But Never Thought They Would Share It On Facebook

When you work in the restaurant business, you have the opportunity to do nice things for others but not every worker takes advantage of it. It seems as if some did, and now their actions have gone viral.

It all has to do with first responders, and they are out there risking their lives on a daily basis to protect us and the community around us. They do their jobs regularly, and that includes four Louisiana police officers who were ending their shift one day.

They decided they wanted to get some dinner on the way home from work so they stopped at the local Outback Steakhouse. They ordered their meal and enjoyed it, but then something happened that they couldn’t have expected.

All the four off-duty police officers wanted to do was get a nice meal and they decided to go to the Outback Steakhouse in Slidell, Louisiana. It wasn’t out of the ordinary, and the meal was served and nothing stood out as being unusual.

One of the waitresses who works at the outback steakhouse, Zoë Rao said: “They’re the sweetest guys. I enjoy waiting on them.”

When the action that she took it social media, however, it went viral. It started when manager Arlene Wood saw the officers coming in and knew they were regulars. She got together with Zoë and came up with a plan.

The bill for the four police officers was $67 but when they got the receipt, they saw that something was scribbled on it. As it turned out, the server and manager picked up the tab that day and they left a note to thank them for their service to the community.

It read, “Be safe! Thank y’all for y’all’s service! Enjoy y’all’s meal on us!”

Arlene said: “They care about the community. They care about everybody. They’re just great guys. Our whole police force is great and these guys at night, I went to Zoë and I said, let’s take care of it”

They got their meal that evening but they did leave a great tip to show how happy they were with the kindness. Later, tribute was given by the local police department to the employees as they posted the receipt image to their Facebook page.

After it went viral, it came to the attention of the manager of outback steakhouse, Arlene. She said: “I got a phone call early in the morning and I was like what are you talking about?

“People were calling me and then we saw it on Facebook, then it’s on this one and that one, and we didn’t do it for this publicity, because Lord knows I don’t like all this publicity.”

It’s nice when somebody does something kind and let’s hope that this is a special way of paying it forward so that others can benefit.
