You would expect that any time the news revolved around the royal family or a single member of it, there would be a lot of attention pointing in that direction. It seems as if the Duchess of Sussex is now getting that attention.
After Meghan Markle announced the release of her upcoming Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, social media has been buzzing. There are a lot of reactions ahead of the release of the show, with some being from loyal fans and others being from critics.
People love to debate and this was certainly something that was worthy of that debate. It also hinted at the release of her new series, which premieres on Netflix on January 15, 2025. The promotional cover image for the series shows Meghan Markle in a long dress that is flowing and gives a hint of what may be coming in the series.
In the image are also some beautiful flowers, some of which she is arranging by hand. She has a big smile and it seems as if a very welcoming scene. It certainly is one that would attract many people.
In the trailer for the upcoming series, there is a glimpse into the world that she has created. At the beginning, she is in her garden wearing a casual outfit and picking fresh vegetables. She then moves into the kitchen, where she is using the fresh vegetables to prepare for a meal.
She said: “I’ve always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it.”
She then goes on to take a big slice out of a three-layer homemade cake with plenty of strawberries. The voiceover shows her passion for creating such moments. She says that it brings her much joy to create things for others.
You also get to see her visiting with some close friends, including Mindy Kaling. They share drinks, ice cream, and have some close conversations. At one point, Meghan’s interest in beekeeping also comes to the fore.
It seems as if she is living in a perfect world but she says they are not in the ‘pursuit of perfection’. She said: “We’re in the pursuit of joy. Love is in the details.”
Many people were thrilled with what they saw in the trailer but others feel as if this type of lifestyle series is overdone and should be left in the past. There were some who even said that they wouldn’t watch it and will push the dislike button.
Some of the critics or even more harsh with their estimation of the show, calling it a ‘money grabber.’ Others said that they don’t know anyone who will be tuning in and go on to call her two-faced, mentioning that she has turned her back on two families.
Some called the show unoriginal, noting that Martha Stewart already did that type of series. Her show, Martha Stewart Living ran from 1996 until 2004.
Despite the fact that many were critical, there were others who were outspoken about their excitement for the upcoming series. They noted that she has ‘thriving and happy, and doing good things.’
The eight-episode lifestyle show is more than just a reflection of her transformation in a personal way. It is also an indication of what the $100 million Netflix partnership that they share with Harry is capable of doing. You can expect to see a lot of guest stars on this show.
