Mom Struggles Through Delivery When Doctor Looks At Her Daughter And Says ‘Get Suited Up’

Dede Carraway was excited about the prospect of becoming a new mother. She already had a daughter but her pregnancy was still something that came along with a lot of anticipation. She had been through labor before so she wasn’t expecting anything unusual but when it started, there was no way she could have imagined that it wouldn’t go quite like her original birth. Things didn’t stick with the original plan but the OB/GYN gave a suggestion made her heart flutter.

Anybody who has ever had a baby or has witnessed childbirth realizes that it is a very special event. It is life-changing, not only because you are about to bring a new life into the world but also because of the different emotions, and sensations that make it a very unique event. Some women are also desirous of sharing that moment with other.

Dede had a 12-year-old daughter, Jacee and she did not want to miss the big moment. There were many people crowded around the mother but her daughter enters into the room because she didn’t want to miss the birth.

“I started crying because I thought I wasn’t going to get to see him be born, because I was too short.”

That is when the OB/GYN, Dr. Wolfe, suggested something unusual.

Dr. Wolf looked over at the little girl and asked her if she would like to help deliver her new baby brother. Both the mother and daughter were rather panicked over the possibilities. It wasn’t part of the birth plan but after some reassurance, they agreed.

Jacee was standing in front of the doctor and she helped to deliver her baby brother.

“I actually delivered him, he let me actually push down and pull the baby out…. I was like, wow, like I’ve played fake doctor before, but this is the real thing, this is is the real deal. I was really nervous.”

The delivery did not go perfectly as planned. The epidural was not taking so she was in pain. The look on her daughter’s face, however, made the moment well worth it.

The moment finally came for the push and Jacee helped to deliver her 7 pounds, 6-ounce brother, Cayson Carraway.

“Seeing the emotions on her face, it made me cry. I’m about to cry now! It was just a good moment for me.”

The little girl had dreamed about being a veterinarian for quite some time. Now, it might be possible that she is considering becoming an OB/GYN. The birth brought new life into something that she already loved.

Jacee’s first moments with her new baby brother were captured and posted online so that everybody could enjoy them. You can really tell that they share a tight bond already.
