‘Mini’ Husky With Special Needs Can’t Find A Forever Home

When most of us think about shelter dogs, our hearts really go out to them and we hope that they are able to get a forever home. Some of them are able to find the family that they need but others may have a more difficult time. This tends to be the case when a shelter dog gets older or if they are having any type of a physical difficulty. That was what happened with Candace, a special husky who was born to a breeder but eventually, ended up in a shelter.

Candace had problems when she was born so the breeder took her to a clinic to be euthanized. The vet recognized that the owner was not interested in helping this little dog so they took the next step and turned the dog over to a rescue. That is where K9 Rescue and Rehoming took this little dog in and in no time at all, the entire staff was absolutely in love with the puppy. As you look down through the pictures, it will be easy to see why everyone had these feelings for the dog but there was still a problem that needed to be overcome.

When Candace was examined, it was discovered that she had a problem with some of her vertebrae. They were fused together and it is not really known why it took place. She may have been injured early in life or she may have been born with the condition. As a result of her spine problem, she has to wear leg braces but once she is out of them, she will always be a little clumsy.

As a husky, Candace should’ve been a fairly large dog but she is small because of those issues. She doesn’t have a tail and she has incontinence, so she wears diapers to prevent accidents. The foster mother is more than capable of handling these problems and she dresses the puppy in all sorts of fun outfits.

Even though Candace is different, she still loves to run and play. She is a generally happy dog and she is determined to do anything that is on her mind. When this energetic dog starts going, she really gets going but she can’t jump because of her injuries. One thing she can do, however, is climb.

If a family was to adopt Candace they will have to change her diapers regularly. She may also have a few other needs but aside from those special needs, she is a lovable animal who is looking for a forever home. Would you adopt this puppy or do you know somebody who would adopt her?

Every animal deserves an opportunity to live with a loving family. Candace has a great foster home but she is still looking for her forever home.
