It’s hard to believe that another Valentine’s Day has come and gone. Romance was in the air for many couples but some didn’t have quite the evening that they should.
On Valentine’s Day, one couple that took to social media to show everyone just how in love they were was Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. She shared a love letter to Prince Harry on that day but fans everywhere are talking about the caption on the photo.
A wholesome photo of the Duchess of Sussex along with her husband was posted first to celebrate Valentine’s Day. They were enjoying a dinner date and the black-and-white picture showed them sharing a kiss with plenty of food on the table in front of them.
Even that picture drew a little bit of unwanted attention because people were quick to point out that Her burger was almost finished but her husband’s plate was basically untouched.
She wrote: “Back home taking care of our babies, and missing my Valentine, as he continues on at the Invictus Games, changing lives and reminding all of us of the power of healing and resilience through these incredible veterans and their families. Beyond proud of my husband and what he’s created.
“My love, I will eat burgers & fries and fish & chips with you forever. Thank you for you. #lovewins. As ever, M.”
It seems like a sweet sentiment but many people were not feeling it as much as she seemed to be. Some said that it captured their enduring love and others saw the post as more of an opportunity to compare themselves with Prince William and Princess Kate.

William and Kate did post a picture on Twitter, with him kissing her softly on the cheek and her laughing. The caption was simple and included a red heart.
Many people thought that Megan was only copying those two and they pointed out how she likely feels inferior in comparison. They also pointed out that William and Kate only captioned it with a red heart.
In the end, you really need to try not to read between the lines unless you want to be frustrated about what you are reading. Meghan, who has sometimes been called the ‘Duchess of Difficult’ often finds herself in the public eye and not always for the best reasons.
We are sure that they will get beyond it, but it’s always interesting to see how they show up in the headlines.
