Meghan Markle Glams With Expensive Jewelry When Visiting Fires And People Are Furious

Many celebrities have been trying to chip in and assist while the LA wildfires are burning. Some of them are praised for their efforts and others may experience some negative reactions.

One individual who has been helping is the Duchess of Sussex. Both Prince Harry and Megan Markel have been active in South California, doing what they can to support those suffering as a result of the wildfires.

This included a visit to Pasadena on January 10, when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex went for the second time that week. The online community looked on, with some being happy and others wondering what she was thinking.

Both Harry and Meghan met with Mayor Victor Gordo and first responders, along with victims who had experienced loss from the Eaton fire. They met at the Pasadena Convention Center.

The royal couple was there to hand out essential supplies and distribute food to victims and talk with those in the community about recovery. Earlier in the week, they were anonymously delivering food to families displaced by the fires.

On this recent visit, a controversy got started online because fans were not happy with Meghan wearing expensive jewelry while she was there. In particular, she was wearing a Cartier bracelet and the Internet was not happy.

Her accessories drew a lot of negative comments on social media with many expressing their disapproval. Some are calling it a photo op and others are calling her fake.

Despite the fact that some were unhappy with her choice of accessories, others were happy that they made the effort. They referred to the couple as being loving and caring and helpful to others.

Other social media platforms also had similar divisions, with some feeling that the visit was staged for publicity. Even Justine Bateman had similar feelings, calling it a ‘photo op’.

She said: “Meghan Markle and Harry are no better than ambulance chasers. What a repulsive ‘photo op’ they achieved. They are ‘touring the damage’? Are they politicians now? They don’t live here; they are tourists. Disaster Tourists.”

I guess debates like this will always be a part of any relief effort when celebrities are involved. Let’s just hope that those who need the help and comfort experienced it from the visit.
