Christmas music is something that we expect to hear as November turns into December. It is playing in the stores, on the radio, and often in our homes.
Although there are many Christmas songs that may play, one that we hear more than perhaps any other is a newer song by Mariah Carey. That song, ‘All I Want for Christmas’ fills a lot of our time.
Over the years, this Mariah Carey song has become a staple of the holiday season. It is also done quite well for the singer, as she makes millions of dollars every year in royalties.
Although people around the world appreciate this song and want to hear it constantly in December, Mariah Carey’s own children don’t feel the same.
Carrie revealed that her children have their own thoughts about hearing the song. She shared an Instagram video last year, in which she was wearing a red jumpsuit.
She was on the floor in front of a Christmas tree while her twins, Monroe and Moroccan were standing by her. They were not dressed in a festive manner and they didn’t look very happy.
They said: “Mom, please, we don’t want to do this every time!”
Mariah replied: “It’s just being festive! It’s not every-”
At that point, she stops talking and starts singing: “I don’t want a lot for Christmas.”
That was all that was necessary. The kids stormed off the set and it was clear that they didn’t want to hear another word out of their mother’s mouth, at least not while she was singing her Christmas song.
Mariah Carey’s followers gave it more than 1 million likes. She enjoyed making it and did say that it was just a fun skit they did to celebrate Christmas.
The Carey kids did pretend as a joke to be sick of the song but it’s clear that it is a favorite of many. Why not try counting how many times you hear it tomorrow? You might be surprised.
