Man Wants Kids To Stay Off His Property So He Installs An Electric Fence

When we look at the world around us we recognize that it takes people of all types to really make life interesting. Some people are fantastic but other people tend to be rather horrible, for lack of a better word. That is where Bryan Tucker comes in. He owns a piece of property and was tired of children trespassing on it so he decided to do something that was completely uncalled for. He took things to the extreme and installed an electric fence to ‘keep the children away’. You heard that right, an electric fence that could injure children or anyone else in the area.

Tucker’s house was only a few feet away from a middle school bus stop in Henrico County, Virginia. There were times when children would come onto his property when they were on their way home. Tucker had informed officials but he decided to install the electric fence after he grew tired of children throwing trash and walking on his lawn after school. The situation gets even more strange when you find that the homeowner decided to put the fence up on the first day of school.

Parents were obviously upset about the installation of the fence and the fact that Tucker didn’t put up a warning sign. There are two signs on his property posted to a tree that read: “Private Property – hunting, fishing, trapping or trespassing for any purpose is strictly forbidden. Violators will be prosecuted”. The problem is, there is not a sign that says the electric fence is installed and live. Parents were concerned about children getting electrocuted and they didn’t understand what harm such a fence could do. One of the local residents had the following to stay to a news station:

I touched it, I got a slight shock, it wasn’t that great. I understand his concern. I just don’t think he understood the neighbors concern about their kids. One of them could touch it, fall into it, and get shocked.

County officials notified Tucker that he was in violation with the county code because he had installed the fence on a right-of-way. Officials asked him to take down the fence stating that it was illegal. He removed the fence but he is within his legal rights to reinstall it if he puts it at the property line.

I don’t know about you, but I consider this to be above and beyond when it comes to rudeness.
