Man Designs Tiny Home And Transforms A Run-Down Apartment

When it comes to choosing a home, there are always going to be opinions that can take you in one direction or another. Some people look for luxury when they are looking for a home, perhaps thinking that they are going to spend most of their time inside those walls. What many people end up doing, however, is putting themselves in a hole where they have to work long hours, just to afford all of the amenities that the home has to offer. It’s little wonder that people are turning more and more often to tiny homes.

Do you think you could live in an area that was only 258 ft.²? That is how much room was available in this Barcelona Born district pigeon loft. Even though it was a tiny apartment, it was still in disrepair and needed a lot of work. That is where Christian Schallert comes in. He showed his parents the tiny apartment that you will see in the video below and they thought he was crazy when he talked about turning it into a home. Fortunately, he had Barbara Appolloni to help him transform it into something that was not only useful, it was amazing.

When you think about the design of a boat and all that you are able to fit into a small area, it’s easy to see how you could do something similar in a tiny home. There are also many cultures that tend to use clean lines and small spaces, such as people in Japan. That is what this apartment had to offer, a small space that was just waiting to be developed.

One of the interesting things about this apartment is the fact that the features can be changed so readily. Everything is hidden behind the walls, so if you wanted it to be a bedroom, you simply move some panels and if you wanted it to be a dining room, you move some more. Everything is within reach, even the bed that pulls out from seemingly nowhere.

Schallert has an ‘active personality’ and he finds it beneficial to move things around the room as needed. Sure, it is only one little room but it can easily transform and become anything that he needs it to be. If you are willing to live in a small space, I’m sure there is something out there similar waiting for you as well.
