Loving Grandfather Killed In Wal-Mart Parking Lot

Sometimes we may need something and one of the most convenient ways to get it is to jump in the car and head to Walmart. That is what 59-year-old Jonathan Mauk, a grandfather in California did but it ended up costing him his life.

The grandfather’s son, Matthew, gave some insight as to what took place. It seems as if there was a minor fender bender in the parking lot and his father felt responsible, so he got out to apologize.

That is when things turned sour very quickly. Marie Norton, the owner of the car involved in the accident got out and the 37-year-old shot him in the face.

According to witnesses, Mauk was just trying to say he was sorry when the shot rang out. After she fired the shot that killed him, she fled the parking lot but law enforcement found her the next day. She is facing murder charges and the family is devastated.

According to Matthew, there was only minimal damage involved in the accident. It’s a shame that such a profound loss occurred as a result of such a minor incident.

The family described him as being a car enthusiast and he loved being called a grandpa. He was also a very reliable individual, and many people were going to miss the fact that he isn’t around any longer.

Matthew said that they are now seeking justice for the loss. They are experiencing a profound sense of grief but they are still going to attend every court hearing and stay local to make sure that he gets the justice he deserves.

A not guilty plea was entered by Marie Norton at the initial court appearance.
