When we are going through a difficult time, there are moments when we know exactly what would make us feel better. That is how one little boy felt, and he wasn’t afraid to make it known.
Guilherme was only eight years old when he became viral online for a beautiful reason. He had recently been in a 16-day coma and when he woke up, he had one thought on his mind; he wanted to see his mother.
They were able to capture the reunion between the little boy and his mother on video and people were moved by what they saw. It is perhaps one of those beautiful moments that can never be replayed in quite the same way again.
Guilherme had caught a cold and before long, it was a severe form of pneumonia. He ended up at the hospital with his condition worsening and breathing difficulties that made it necessary for him to be intubated. His family was watching over him as he was in a coma for more than two weeks.
His mother, Tayane Gandra was there as a source of strength and stayed by her son’s bedside day and night. She was hoping for a miracle but eventually, she had to go home to rest for her own strength.
She was away for a short while when her son woke up that day and his first thought was to ask for his mother.
Guilherme was born with a rare genetic condition that causes the skin to be fragile. It is called epidermolysis bullosa, and even a slight touch can lead to painful blisters.
The little boy has remained courageous and, despite the struggles, he has been a source of inspiration to the family.
When the little boy woke up, he called for his mother. His father was there, and he called her and urged her to come to the hospital. She came rushing in and when he saw her, there was so much joy on the little boy’s face it brings you to tears.
