Last Words Of 7-Yr-Old Boy Found Dead After Hurricane Helene Revealed

The loss of any life is devastating but when it is a young child, it can have an impact on the family that is unlike any other. Unfortunately, a young child passed away in the wake of Hurricane Helene.

The late child’s aunt discussed the details of what happened using a lengthy post that she shared on the Internet. It was about the loss of her nephew, a seven-year-old boy, and his grandparents.

Hurricane Helene has left a devastating wake of loss in its path. More than 200 people died and it is feared that it will go much higher. This includes many who have lost their lives in the Carolinas.

One mother, her son, and her parents who lived in Asheville, North Carolina were stranded on top of a roof. Unfortunately, the seven-year-old child, Micah, and his grandparents were swept away by the flood when the home collapsed in the water. All she could do was watch it happening.

Meghan was rescued but unfortunately, the others passed away in the flood. Updates were provided by Meghan’s sister, Jessica Drye on Facebook.

Jessica spoke about the emotions that impacted herself and her family as she spoke about the situation. She said: “I feel a bit guilty bc I’m so at peace with things. We will see them again one day and there’s nothing that could entice them to come back after being with Jesus.”

After talking about her spirituality and beliefs that her parents are no longer in a panic situation. She discusses her sister’s grief. “I’m sick that Megan has to live with those images but they are no longer here […] It will be a long road for Megan.”

She discussed how difficult it will be for her and their other sister, Heather. She then talked about her nephew, saying: “They just found Micah’s body. He was found 1/4 of a mile past where they found Megan […] He was such a perfect little boy. He wanted to be a superhero. And now he is.”

“The last thing [Micah] yelled before he was taken was, ‘Jesus! Please help me!” She then closed out the update, saying: “And I still loudly call on His name! New grief and strong faith. New motto.”

After she was swept away from the current, Meghan was lodged between two trailers and it was three hours before she was rescued.

A friend of Heather also posted on Facebook, saying: “Please pray for Megan, Jessica Drye Turner, and Heather and the rest of the family. The loss Megan has endured is profound. She is left with nothing. If you feel led please give. If you can’t, please pray.”

A GoFundMe was set up to help with expenses. It said in the description: “For Megan Drye, our miracle, who has lived a mother’s worst nightmare. She has survived the unimaginable and lost absolutely everything. The support of others will carry her and encourage her to keep taking one breath, one step, and one day at a time.”
