A lot of focus has been placed on the royal family in recent years, especially since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left for the United States. Now, the Duke of Sussex and his wife have become a controversial part of the family, and it seems as if the issues continue to deepen.
Despite the fact that there have been moments when it seemed as if the problems were lifting, the Royal relationships continue to be strained at this time. This included recently when the Royal family allegedly disrespected Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son, Archie when he celebrated his fifth birthday.
If that wasn’t bad enough, Prince Harry has now been reported to be ‘in tears’ after his father snubbed him.
Undoubtedly, the relationship between Prince Harry and King Charles deserves further scrutiny but it is not the only issue within the family. Ever since Harry stepped away from royal life, his relationship with Prince William has continued to deteriorate.
The boys were very young when their mother, Princess Diana, died in a car accident in 1997. They were 15 and 12 years old when it occurred. According to a biographer for Princess Diana, Andrew Morton, the relationship between the brothers was ‘incredibly intimate.’
After the release of ‘Spare’, however, Prince William has pulled away even further and now ‘doesn’t even recognize’ his younger brother. According to an insider, “He wants to believe that there’s still hope for peace down the line, but it’s hard.”
When Harry was in the UK for his father’s coronation in May 2023, the brothers kept a respectable distance. The relationship problems continued, and it seems as if King Charles may have been at the heart of it.
King Charles supposedly was not able to see Prince Harry when he was visiting because he had a ‘full programme.’ Charles had also offered him a royal residence while he visited, but reports say that Harry turned it down.
Many people are now questioning the timing of these events, and according to Tom Quinn, a royal author and commentator, King Charles may have been sending his youngest son a single to emphasize how he was now estranged from the royal family permanently.
The royal author said that Prince Harry was ‘in tears’ when he heard what took place. He went on to say: “What makes it much worse is that the role is being given to the very man who Harry sees as the cause of so many of his problems – his brother.
“And the announcement was deliberately made during Harry’s brief visit to the UK to have maximum impact; it shows Harry that he really is no longer welcome.”
In addition, Prince Harry may have thought he was in line for the role of Colonel in Chief of the Army Air Corpse, but King Charles appointed Prince William. This just seems to show that there is a rift within the family that is even deeper than many of us may have realized.
Pandora Forsyth, a royal commentator said that the decision to appoint Prince William was the right thing to do, stating that he was the ‘right fit for the role.’ He went on to say: “Prince Harry knew this when he left as a senior member of the working family, that he would have to give up his honorary military titles.
“So, unfortunately, this is just now the reality for Harry. And it’s brutal and of course, it’s going to hit home because it’s very personal for him.”
