People seem to have an attachment to animals and regardless of your personal feelings on zoos and other animal parks, they continue to be a popular part of our culture. This includes many who will go to SeaWorld to see the killer whales.
Unfortunately, those who were in the ‘splash zone’ at a recent show got a little bit more than they were expecting. Those who were in the theme park got to see a killer whale take a poop in the water and then splash the feces all over them.
I couldn’t imagine the horror of watching this happen in front of you. Not only did he leave a cloud of brown filth in the water as he dived, he then jumped up and splashed it all over them. They ended up having to go to a decontamination zone!
This happened in Texas at the SeaWorld San Antonio Park. The guests who were in the splash zone spoke about how disgusting it was and how people were gagging at the stench.
Since a lot of people who are at the shows are taking videos, there is footage of the killer whale defecating at the top of the water as you can see through the glass window. He then spun around, went airborne, and created an amazing splashing wave that covered the audience in front of them.
When the killer whale first pooped in the water, you can even see a little boy looking around in disgust. Obviously, after he was soaked to the gills, he was a bit traumatized.
Many people have commented on this issue, and they have a lot of opinions. Some people simply laughed at the irony of it all, while others used it as an opportunity to express their concern that animals, like these, are still kept in captivity.
In the end, a statement was released by SeaWorld. It said: “We regret this unfortunate event and are taking every step to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests.
“Our team followed established protocols to minimize health risks and will review our procedures to prevent this from happening again.”
