There are times when you have a singer who has a voice so powerful that they can move you to tears very quickly. When you get more than one of those singers together, it is guaranteed to give you chills.
We experienced this back in 2007 when Kelly Clarkson took the stage with Reba McIntyre to deliver a performance of Because of You that will never be forgotten. This was one of Clarkson’s songs from her album, Breakaway that was originally released in 2004.
As the two singers stood on the stage, you could really feel the power that was coming from them. It was as if the two singers were able to make more of them as a pair than they could ever do singularly.
It’s also interesting that the two of them were also mother-in-law and daughter-in-law at the time. That would eventually end when Kelly Clarkson was divorced in 2021, but at this time, they were still related in that way.
It’s also noteworthy that, despite the divorce, Reba and Kelly have managed to stay friends and they even continue to perform on occasion. In this particular case, however, it was a time when they were younger and still amazing.
This performance took place at the 2007 AMC Awards and it really showcased what they were able to do as musical artists. After they sang ‘Because of You’, the song went on to gain even more popularity and went up to number two on Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. It even managed to earn a Grammy nomination for Best Vocal Country Collaboration.
