Kate Middleton Shares The Real-World Secrets Behind Her Children’s Clothes

The royal family may be in the news for any number of different reasons but sometimes, it’s all about fashion. This is not only true of the adults in the royal family, it is true of the children.

Recently, Princess Catherine visited the Corgi textile factory in South Wales. She spoke about how she had an archive of children’s clothing from her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

When the Princess of Wales was visiting the knitwear and handmade socks factory, she shared an unexpected moment with employees. She was trying to sew a sock on one of the machines when she said: “It’s so fiddly. It’s definitely not my forte.”

She also told one of the factory employees that they made it look so easy. Obviously, she was enjoying her time at the factory and said: “It’s so lovely to be here. I’ve been looking forward to it. I’ve heard all about your brand.”

Princess Catherine was also eager to learn about how local schoolchildren also participate if the factory to experience the work environment. She said: “It’s nice to see the younger ones coming in and learning this craftsmanship.”

It’s not unusual to see the three royal children belonging to William and Kate wearing hand-me-downs and heirlooms from the family. It doesn’t comprise the entire royal wardrobe for the children, but, in case words, “they really wore well.”

The Princess has always been outspoken about sustainable fashion, which was seen when Prince Louis wore his father’s sailor suit for the Putnam Jubilee held for the late Queen Elizabeth in 2022.

Charlotte has even been seen sporting a pair of her uncle, Prince Harry’s, buckle-up shoes in 2017.

James Middleton, Kate’s younger brother has also been able to use some of the clothing from the royal family. We have seen his 1-year-old son wearing hand-me-downs, so it’s obviously a big part of the family.

James has said how his son uses that clothing regularly. He said: “Catherine and Pippa bring two big suitcases of hand-me-down clothes, so any goes cupboards are full of sweet little outfits cousins – even the girls – have worn.”

He also admits that the clothing he receives at times may seem ‘enormous’ but it doesn’t take long for babies to grow into it. He also shared that the journey of parenting has been trial and error for he and his wife.
