If there is one thing that is certain in this world, it’s the fact that we can never be certain of anything. Life changes on a dime and we can either change with it or get left behind.
John Travolta is someone who has been on top of the world for many years. Unfortunately, he has also lost deeply after his wife, Kelly Preston, died from cancer.
People react to death in different ways and John Travolta had a difficult time dealing with the grief. He has now decided to dedicate his life to caring for their children, which is a worthwhile endeavor, indeed.
It began when Kelly Preston, his wife of 28 years died in July 2020. She had been fighting breast cancer for two years and was only 57 years old at the time of her death.
Travolta does try to stay positive because of his children, but it has not been easy for him. In addition to losing his wife, the family suffered another loss when their 16-year-old son, Jett passed away after a seizure in 2009.
He suffered that seizure while they were traveling in the Bahamas. It absolutely broke his parent’s hearts. Travolta even spoke about it at the time, saying: “It’s the worst thing that’s ever happened in my life. The truth is, I didn’t know if I was going to make it.”
After his wife, Kelly passed away, it was shared online by a family representative. They wrote: “Choosing to keep her fight private, she had been undergoing medical treatment for some time, supported by her closest family and friends.
“She was a bright, beautiful and loving soul who cared deeply about others and who brought life to everything she touched. Her family asks for your understanding of their need for privacy at this time.
She made the decision not to share her diagnosis of breast cancer with the world. Even her costar at the time was unaware of what was going on.
Travolta went on Instagram to speak about his loss, saying: “My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side. Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered.”
An insider filled in the gaps with additional information, saying that John had no shortage of friends who wanted to set him up and there were plenty of women who wanted to go out with him. He went on to say: “John is flattered, but he just isn’t interested.
“No one wants to push him because they understand he’s torn between opening himself up to love again and staying single and being the best father he can be. Until John can figure things out, everyone is giving him the space he needs.”
Life can’t be easy for John Travolta, but he has plenty of people behind him. We wish him many more years of love and happiness with his children.
