John Travolta Shows Off His Iconic Dance Moves From Grease 40 Years Later

There are many people who tend to ‘dance like nobody’s watching’ but then again, there are others who absolutely excel at it. If you think back to the 70s, if you were fortunate enough to be living during that time, you probably remember a lot about dancing. Even if you weren’t able to do it in public on your own, you probably saw it done on the big screen and that is especially true in the legendary movie known as Grease. This movie, which was set in 1958, portrayed the story of Danny who falls in love with Sandy and the rest is history.

Although they came from ‘different sides of the track’, Sandy managed to be totally enamored with Danny. When the summer finished, she returned to Australia but she promised that she would return. When he went back home, he didn’t really give it much thought but suddenly, the Pink Ladies showed up at the football game pep rally with the new student. It was Sandy.

Danny and Sandy had a hard time believing that they were actually standing in front of each other again. The T-Birds, who were Danny’s friends, were making fun of him and that’s when he started acting cool all over again.

If you remember the movie, you probably remember everything from the infamous mooning to the car race. You also probably remember the music and of course, the dancing. Many of us practiced those dance moves and imitated them when we had the opportunity.

Danny Zucca was the talented dancer who was portrayed by John Travolta in the movie. The choreographer who works for the movie wanted to put something amazing together for Danny and Sandy. Sandy, who was portrayed by Olivia Newton-John, had quite an ability to dance as well.

John celebrated the 40th anniversary of the New York City premiere of Grease and he appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. They managed to get on the subject of the choreography and how Jimmy’s nieces and nephews loved the movie and copied the moves while they sang along.

John was sitting there with a few days growth of beard on his face but he looked rather nice in his suit. He chuckled at the story and apparently, it was something that he remembered as well.

Jimmy decided that he was going to get John on his feet so he could perform it for the audience, and he went along with it! Before long, Jimmy was out in front of his desk joining him.

They waited until the part of the song from “You’re the One That I Want” began playing. It was almost instantaneous that the ladies in the crowd went wild and started cheering.
