There have been many celebrity deaths this year but sometimes, it is of someone so iconic that it is difficult to believe it could be true. That is what we have to report today.
Legendary actor James Earl Jones, who was known for playing many parts, including Mufasa in The Lion King and Darth Vader in Star Wars has passed away at the age of 93. He died at his home in New York.
Jones was an actor who was a legacy in many ways. He was more than a voice actor, which he did well in Disney’s The Lion King or Star Wars, but he was also quite an actor on the stage and the screen.
He got his start in 1958 on Broadway at a theater that was later named in his honor in 2022. He received four Tony nominations and won 2 of them.
In 1969, he played Jack Johnson in The Great White Hope. He Went on to Play in Many Well-Known Movies, Including The Hunt for Red October, Coming to America, and many others.
Many celebrities came on social media to pay tribute to Jones, including Mark Hamill from Star Wars. LeVar Burton from Star Trek also wrote: “James Earl Jones… there will never be another of his particular combination of graces.”
It’s difficult to believe that such a legacy has passed away. May he rest in peace.
