Many Hollywood couples don’t stand the test of time. In many cases, people will start counting the years before they are divorced as soon as they are married.
That is the case with every couple in Hollywood, and James Earl Jones, along with his late wife Cecilia Hart are good examples. They managed to beat the odds in several ways and were married for more than three decades until she passed away from ovarian cancer.
Most people remember James Earl Jones because of his distinguished voice. It was something that crossed generations because he played the voice actor in movies from Star Wars to The Lion King. He had a lot of success in his career but he was also successful in his marriage.
After spending more than 30 years with his wife, she passed away at the age of 93. She died at home after a struggle with cancer.
James Earl Jones also recently passed away, and he left behind a legacy of more than 60 years where he played in some of the biggest movies.
He was born in 1931 in Mississippi and raised by his grandparents before going to Michigan. Most people don’t know that he had a speech problem that led to a stutter when he was a child, and he struggled with his self-esteem. Eventually, a teacher would help him to speak without stuttering.
He had a number of career goals when he was younger, including going into the military and practicing medicine. Eventually, he decided on a career in entertainment.
He got his start in theater but eventually, he would move over to the big screen in 1964. He played in Dr. Strangelove and then he starred in a couple of soap operas, including Guiding Light and As the World Turns.
Just because he was in his 90s did not mean that he was taking a break from Hollywood. In fact, he played the voice of Darth Vader in the movie: Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker. He also reprised his role as King Jaffe Joffer in Coming 2 of America.

After separating from his first wife, he was single for seven years until he met Hart in 1979. They were on the set of a television show: ‘Paris’ when they met. She was also an actress who had a number of appearances under her belt.
They were eventually married in 1982 and they struggled a bit at first. Not with each other but with society because they were an interracial couple. This type of relationship did not have the same type of acceptance as it does today.
After starting a life together, they went on to have a son and he followed in his father’s footsteps. He remained close to his father and even served as his personal assistant at one point.
For the most part, Flynn likes to remain private.
Undoubtedly, James Earl Jones has seen his ups and downs but overall, he has left behind a legacy that we can all appreciate.
