One of the things that many people look forward to at the major award shows is the red carpet. It’s amazing to see how people dress their best or sometimes, where something unusual grabs our attention.
At this year’s Grammy Awards, Will Smith’s son, Jaden Smith certainly did get some attention when he came out on the red carpet. Most people were actually curious as to why he would wear a large castle on his head.
The 67th annual Grammy Awards is one of the biggest events for music of the year. It’s held in Los Angeles and fans have been waiting for the show to start for one simple reason.
It isn’t just the winners and losers that are getting people’s attention, when Jaden Smith came out on the red carpet wearing a castle on his head, he was definitely making an unusual statement.
26-year-old Jaden Smith is an American rapper and the son of Will Smith. From the neck down, he was dressed in a Louis Vuitton black tuxedo and tie. That would’ve blended in nicely, but the black castle on his head got the attention.
As you can imagine, it didn’t take much for this unusual look to go viral. People were calling it his ‘house hat’ and others were joking that it looked like he had a lot on his mind.
Apparently, he was trying to make a statement of some sort and that statement may have been associated with the thousands of homes that were lost to the Los Angeles wildfires. One of those homes belonged to his sister, Willow Smith when she lost her $4 million Malibu home as it was destroyed in the fire.
Jayden and Willow Smith arrived together at the ceremony to support their father, who is a presenter during the show. In the meantime, Willow had two nominations for awards in the categories, Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical for her compilation, ‘Empathogen’, and Best Arrangement Instrumentals.
Will Smith is enjoying his opportunity to introduce a music tribute to Quincy Jones, who was executive producer for Smith’s show in the 90s, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
On the other hand, it’s only been three years since he slapped Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars. He is still banned from appearing at the Oscars until 2032.
