There are certain movies that became so iconic that they practically defined a generation. Princess Diaries is one of those, and it was so popular it even had a wildly popular sequel.
If you happen to be a big fan of Genovia and everything having to do with Princess Diaries, then you are about to lose your mind over the news we have. Anne Hathaway has officially announced that they are working on Princess Diaries 3.
The announcement is that the movie is in the works at Disney and we can expect to see it in the theaters eventually. This is incredible because it has been over 20 years since the first movie took us on a trip that had many of us watching the movie over and over again.
This also isn’t the first time that we’ve heard about a possible third movie in the series. The rumors started flying around about two years ago, but now it is official.
Anne Hathaway posted on her Instagram: “As a diehard fan of the original Princess Diaries, I’m beyond excited to be a part of bringing the third iteration of this beloved franchise to life,” Lim said in a statement.
“We look forward to celebrating its core tenants of female power, joy and mentorship with audiences worldwide.”
It has also been confirmed with the post on Instagram captioned: “Miracles happen ✨👑 Back to Genovia with @adeleblim @disney @somewherepictures. The fairy tale continues ❤️🔥.”
