Influencer Paul Kim Shares Devastating Loss Of Five Year Old Son

Influencer Paul J. Kim shared the devastating news that his five year old son Micah has died. He announced the loss on social media, confirming that Micah passed away on December 31 after being hospitalized for nearly two weeks.

Kim, who is known for sharing Catholic faith based content online, posted an emotional video on New Year’s Day. In it, he explained that Micah had spent eleven difficult days in the hospital before his condition took a tragic turn.

In the video, Kim said: “After fighting 11 long hard days, [Micah] went home to the house of our father.” He spoke directly to followers who had been praying for his son throughout the ordeal.

He continued by thanking supporters for their prayers and messages during what he called the hardest experience of his life. Kim said the pain has not eased and that the loss continues to weigh heavily on him and his family.

Kim also explained why he chose to speak publicly while asking for privacy. He said he felt he owed an update out of gratitude and shared his belief that Micah is already in Heaven, adding that his son’s life has already touched others.

Micah was first admitted to the hospital on December 21 after suffering a severe case of influenza. His condition worsened, and he later developed sepsis, a dangerous immune response where the body begins attacking itself.

Despite treatment, Micah did not improve and was moved into intensive care. Doctors reportedly found no brain activity present, and he passed away on New Year’s Eve.

Kim described returning home without his son as one of the most heart wrenching and awkward experiences of his life. He said: “Coming back to a home where Micah is not running around, laughing and screaming as he usually is.”

Micah’s death comes during a particularly severe flu season. Thousands of Americans have died after contracting the virus, with millions more infected, and young children have been among those most seriously affected.

Health officials say a mutated strain of Influenza A is contributing to unusually severe cases. The strain has led to high numbers of hospital admissions in multiple countries, placing heavy strain on medical systems.
