Horrific Video Shows The Moment Family Finds Alligator In Their Home After Hurricane

People were shocked when they saw the devastation associated with Hurricane Milton. It did so much damage in the numbers are still coming in.

Most are familiar with the typical dangers of hurricanes, such as high winds, storm surge, rainfall, and spawning tornadoes. They may not know about all of the dangers, however, and that became evident when a video was shared on TikTok.

Florida was hit with hurricane Milton and many people were told to evacuate their homes. It was something that many people took the heart and they left for safer areas.

Those who stayed in the mandatory evacuation areas were cut off from the rest of the world and even if they did have an emergency, emergency services would be able to come. Even those who did leave are now returning to their homes and they sometimes find a surprise inside.

That is what is being shared on TikTok what the family opened the front door and started going in. They knew that they would find water on the inside but they didn’t know that they would find a huge alligator invading their home.

After the unexpected visitor showed up in their home, it was noted that warnings did go out from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission about wild animals in the area. This included everything from alligators to bears and snakes.

Christopher Gillette is a biologist who had warned about alligators and he was on Instagram recently to tell people to watch out for the floodwaters. He wrote:

“Gator safety during the hurricane!! Watch for snakes and gators in the floodwaters, stay safe and stay out of the water! The usual Gator safety talk, don’t feed them, keep kids and pets away from the water, don’t swim or wade in the water!

“The risk posed by wildlife in the flood waters is actually relatively low, you should really stay out because it’ll be full of human sewage.”

In a situation such as a flooding home or when a hurricane occurs, alligators can hold their breath for up to six hours. He also discussed other animals, including snakes.

“There will be many displaced animals that people have to watch out for, including snakes on the ground.

“They can be easy to miss when they’re among all of the fallen branches on the ground. People need to be really careful navigating areas in the aftermath.”

Just one more thing to worry about!
