Homeless Man Helps Hotel That Helped The Homeless

I think that all of us would agree that times have been difficult, especially in the past six months. It wasn’t all that long ago that everything seemed to be going along without a care in the world when suddenly, the coronavirus pandemic brought everything to a screeching halt. It doesn’t matter who we were, we were all affected by the pandemic in some way or another and in some cases, it left people struggling just to get by from one day to the next. That was the case for many homeless individuals in Worchester, England but there was a hotel that stepped up to the plate.

I’d like to introduce you to Eddie Boult. He has been facing economic problems during the pandemic, and his trade is a bricklayer. We could all experience some type of hardship, and for this man, it was a lack of housing. The Fownes Hotel in Worchester, however, was accommodating to some who lost their homes during the pandemic. They would not close, but they opened their doors to allow those who needed a place to live to come in. It was a kindness that Eddie truly appreciated, so he decided to pay them back in a very interesting way.

As a bricklayer, Eddie decided to put in a patio for the hotel. He says: “I did it because I was bored but also as a thank you to the staff. They’ve really looked after me.” Considering the fact that the hotel charges about £155 per night, it has been a real help to those who need it most.

Forty-five temporary guests have found a home at the hotel during these difficult times. This includes some homeless people who have been living on the streets for decades. One of those homeless individuals even said that they never slept in a double bed before, so they were thrilled with what this five-star hotel did. It’s always nice when we see people pulling together, and this is an example that all of us can appreciate.
