Hilarious and Talented Dad-Daughter Duo Go Viral Twice with Lip Sync Routines

Do you know the saying that lightning never strikes twice in the same place? Well, it’s totally not true, first of all. Science has proven that lightning can indeed strike twice in the same place, and there are even people who have been struck twice by lightning. And for one father and daughter duo who were stuck inside their Dallas home because of quarantine and winter weather, their lightning was two hilarious lip-sync routines that went completely viral. Not once, but twice. Michael Hoffman and his daughter Ali have graced the internet with something awesome and it’s something you have to see to believe.

The first video was in 2015 when the pair were stuck inside during a harsh winter day in Dallas. To make the time go by, they did a lip-sync routine to Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” and posted the video online, never dreaming they were going to go viral. Now, five years later, they were stuck inside because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and they did another lip-sync routine and went viral again. This time, their lip-sync expertise was put to good use with a routine to Jess Glynne’s “Hold My Hand,” and sure enough, their second video is even better than the one they did on a cold day in 2015. Here’s the first video.

It’s an absolute joy to watch this dad and daughter making some memories in this fun way, and to know that they’re doing it during a time that’s stressful for most people in the world makes it even better for them. They’ll have something positive to remember about this eventful year. In the video, Ali is trying desperately to stop from busting out laughing while her dad makes truly spectacular moves like there’s no tomorrow.

Better than anything, however, is that they completely nail the routine. Ali is lip-synching the lead vocals while her dad joins as a backup singer. They also play air instruments that are synchronized perfectly with the music and dance their hearts out. Watch their newest routine below.
