We have become accustomed to seeing people who have an incredible amount of talent these days. They show up online or perhaps on a TV talent show and before you know it, the unknown person has become a household name.
Sometimes, people surprise both the judges and the audience when they audition for one of those talent shows. It happened in 2024 when a music teacher named Mike Woodhams auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent.
Not only did he have the benefit of being a music teacher, he had a genuine excitement for music that showed through in his audition in more ways than one. That was before he started singing and once he began, it was something that took everyone by surprise.
Mike is more than a singer, he is a music Impressionist. He can stand in front of you and you would swear that it was someone else that was singing the song.
Nobody knew that at the show, so when ‘You’re Beautiful’ began playing on the screen behind him in a music video, the judges looked a little confused. When Mike started singing in perfect time with the video, which was silent, the audience was absolutely blown away.
It wasn’t just his ability to imitate the singer in the way that he sounds, he also was able to capture the mannerisms in a way that brought the entire thing to life.
In fact, one of the judges, Bruno, called it the ‘best vocal impression’ that he had heard in a long time. He praised his vocal range and the fact that he shocked everyone with his performance that night.
