What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about Gordon Ramsay? Like many people, you probably think about food, and for good reason. In reality, however, Gordon Ramsay is a person, just like you and me.
This was seen recently when he was in a horrible accident and was seriously bruised up. Not only did it give him an opportunity to share some pictures of his injuries, it also allowed him to promote something very important.
Not long after the 57-year-old chef went on Instagram to share his information about a cycling accident, people started to leave comments to wish him well. He was in Connecticut when he had the accident and he could’ve lost his life if it weren’t for something very important.
The accident had left him “a bit bruised up looking like a purple potato.” That seems appropriate, considering the fact that he is a world-renowned chef.
He wasn’t talking about food on this day, however, he was there to give an important reminder to everyone watching the video, “WEAR A HELMET!”
The video shows the family taking a walk along with their seven month old son, Jesse.
He said “Honestly, I’m lucky to be here. I’m in pain. It’s been a brutal week.” He then continued, “And I’m sort of getting through it. But I cannot tell you the importance of wearing a helmet.”
“I don’t care how short the journey is. I don’t care, you know, the fact that these helmets cost money … they’re crucial,” he said. “Even with the kids, a short journey, they’ve got to wear a helmet.”
Good advice, indeed!
