If you attended college away from your home, you already realize that it is one of the most exciting times of your life. It seems as if the world of opportunities is open to you and although you may spend your evenings eating Ramen noodles, you get to travel the world and you don’t have to worry about saving up any vacation time to do it. It is a time of our life that will never be repeated again and one that we tend to treasure when we look back through our file of memories.
Georgia Bradley is a 25-year-old young lady who was taking advantage of the college lifestyle. She was attending the Plymouth University in England but she took off for a vacation in Greece. There is no doubt that she was feeling rather good about being in such a beautiful area so she decided to leave her apartment in the evening and go for a walk along the beach. After all, she was staying on the Isle of Crete and the beauty of what was available really called to her.
Even though she was in what many people would consider being a paradise setting, there was still danger that was lurking nearby. When she was walking on the beach that evening, two men approached her and she started feeling very uncomfortable. At first, they asked her to join them for drinks but something just didn’t seem right about the situation.
When Georgia refused their advances, they began to get aggressive. They grabbed her by the arm and at that point, she realized that her worst nightmare was coming true. It seemed as if she was in a very bad situation and that was nobody there to help her.
Suddenly, a dog jumps in from out of nowhere and came to her aid. He got in between her and the two men and started barking furiously at them. Instantly, their eyes filled with fear and they realized that the dog meant business.
Thanks to the actions of this unknown dog, Georgia had the opportunity to run away and go back to where she could get assistance. She felt relief wash over her as she found her way back to the apartment. Although she didn’t realize it at the time, the dog had actually followed her home. She then sat down and gave the dog a good scratch, letting her know just how much she appreciated what she did.
“She saved me. She must have noticed something was wrong … We had an instant bond.”
The bond that they shared did not stop at that time. It continued to grow stronger and when she had to return to England, the dog was actually running behind her car as they left for the airport. She must’ve felt as if she was being abandoned by a friend.
When Georgia got back home, she just couldn’t shake the feeling that she had and she knew that she would never be complete without the dog by her side. Only two weeks after she returned to England, she flew back to Crete to see if she could find that stray again.
As it turns out, Georgia was able to find the dog and she adopted her officially and brought her to England. The dog is named Pepper and she is now a permanent part of George’s life.
We often hear of pets doing heroic acts toward their owner but this dog did something toward a complete stranger. It ended up working out in her favor because she found a forever home.
