There are sometimes music events that bring celebrities together from around the world. Such was the case at the Opry 100: A Live Celebration. It was held at the Grand Old Opry in Nashville, Tennessee on March 19.
Some of the biggest stars in country music were there for the event and they honored some of those country music legends who are no longer with us. There was a night that was beautiful on many different levels.
There was one particular performance that really took things to an amazing place, and that is when Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood got on the stage together. They performed a song for country music legends, George Jones and Tammy Wynette.
As Tricia Yearwood stood on the stage beside her husband, it was a very powerful thing to see. She had on a long black gown that was elegant and made the moment a special one, just from the way that it flowed.
As she sang, emotion filled the room and the audience was carried away with the beauty of what was taking place in front of them. Every note reflected the passion that she had for both music and for those that she honored.
Garth Brooks was also looking good in his denim jeans and a cowboy hat with a button-up shirt. Husband and wife stood together on the stage and showed everyone what country music still means to the world.
The song that they performed that evening was ‘Golden Ring’, a song that is as timeless as country music itself. It was a duet that Wynette sang with Jones, and Yearwood sang it with Brooks that evening in a beautiful way. It was a very intimate performance.
As they sang for the audience, images of George Jones and Tammy Wynette were on the screen behind them. It just added to the emotional moment that everyone was experiencing.
