When we get up in the morning, most of us don’t really think much about what is going to happen during the day. We tend to have our days lined up in front of us and we may do the same thing, over and over again. Perhaps it starts out with breakfast, afterward we go to work and when we get home, we may sit on the couch and watch Netflix. After going to bed and waking up, we start the entire routine again. It seems mundane to some people but others, having such a routine is what really keeps them going. After all, if something exciting happened every single day, it may be more than we could handle in amongst all the other things that we had to do. Quite simply, we never know what we are going to get into during the day but we don’t expect anything major to happen.
Every once in a while, we get a surprise in our day that was totally unexpected. It tends to come out of the blue and it might not even be something that you ever thought would happen. There were many people who were in a train station in Paris who experienced something like that in their life. All they were trying to do was get from one place to another but suddenly, they were in the middle of a moment that would actually go viral online. It happened when a man walked up to a public piano and sat down. I don’t think anybody would have thought anything of it, but when he started playing, everybody stopped for a moment and listened.
The sign that was above the piano is in French but it is translated ‘try for yourself’. In other words, if you were in the area and you have the inclination to do so, you could sit down at the piano and play to your heart’s content. It doesn’t matter if you were playing chopsticks or any other song, you were welcome to try it.
The man that sat at the piano on that day was not an amateur, he was a French pianist named Carl Hans. When he sat down to play the piano, people may not have thought much of it but by the time he was finished, they were cheering. You can see the moment for yourself in the following video:
