Four-Year-Old Stuns Judges With ‘Fur Elise’ Performance

She looked like she was headed to a party in her pink dress and tidy updo, but 4-year-old Miss A was there to compete. She sat at the piano for her World Open Online Music Competition performance and introduced her pieces calmly.

Then she started playing and the whole mood changed. She went straight into Beethoven’s ‘Fur Elise’ and then followed it up with Schumann’s ‘Wild Horseman’. The notes were crisp and clear, and people watching said it was hard to believe a kid that young could play that well.

The video is closing in on a million views. People are sharing it all over because it’s just not something you see every day from a four-year-old. She played with maturity and focus way beyond her age.

Someone wrote that they were shocked at how beautiful the music was, and then started wondering how much time it took for her to learn it. They said: “There must have been hours and hours of practice behind the performance.” They also joked that when they were four, they were still writing their letter a’s backwards.

Miss A has already been in other contests too. Just this past month, her parents posted videos of her placing at both the US Carmel Klavier Virtual Piano Competition and the South Suburban 82nd Music Eisteddfod.

At one of those events, she performed a Mozart piece called ‘Minuet’, which is one Mozart wrote when he was around her age. It kind of makes sense that a young prodigy would play something written by a kid genius too.

People are asking how she got this good so early. A lot of the credit is going to her teacher, Yoon Sen Lee, and her parents who clearly support her. Whether she keeps this up as she gets older is anyone’s guess, but if she does, she’s already miles ahead.
