Family Of 4 Dies In Car Trying To Escape Rising Hurricane Floodwaters

There has been so much tragedy associated with Hurricane Helene, and it seems as if we just continue to report sad stories that occurred during that time. This includes what happened in North Carolina, and the news is devastating.

As people start to search for their loved ones in the area where Hurricane Helene came through, we hear stories about people who have lost their lives. This includes a family of four, who died after being swept away into the Toe River.

Alison Wisley, 36, her fiancé, Knox Petrucci, 41, and her children, Felix, nine, and Lucas, seven all passed away as a result of the storm. They were in their car at the time when it ended up in the river.

As the storm grew closer, the family got in their car and decided to drive toward Green Mountain. The floodwaters just continued to come up and eventually, their car started floating.

According to a GoFundMe that has been set up, the incident took place on Friday around noon.

“At around noon on Friday during the storm, they attempted to flee their home by car. The car began to float. They got out and tried to return to their house, but a big wave came and swept them all into the Toe River. So far, Aly, Felix, and Lucas’s bodies have been recovered.

“The search is still on for Knox and several agencies are working tirelessly to find him so that he can be put to rest with his family.”

Aly and Knox were going to be married on November 9 in a small ceremony but unfortunately, they lost their lives along with the children. Family and friends are now grieving the loss.

The GoFundMe has raised over $67,000 of its $70,000 goal. The money will be used to bury the family.

In some parts of the state, communities were practically wiped out. There are still some people who are unaccounted for in the devastation.
