There have been many country music musicians who have graced the stage and have filled our lives with beautiful tunes. One of those individuals is Alan Jackson, and he has now received an award he definitely deserves.
It happened at the 2025 ACM awards on Thursday night when Alan Jackson received the Alan Jackson Lifetime Achievement Award. As he accepted the award, you could tell that he was blinking extravbecause he was trying to hold back tears.
Reba McEntire, the host of the show, presented Jackson with the trophy on stage. The honor, which was named after him, was delivered after he had performed a live rendition of ‘Remember When’, His Ballad from 2003.
Alan Jackson often says that this song is associated with the love that he has for his wife, Denise. His family was there for the honor and the performance, which just seemed to be par for the course.
As he sang, a backdrop showed personal photos of the couple as the years continued to roll by. Fans were taken on a step-by-step trip through their relationship, from the time that they were young until they had children and eventually, until this day. There was even the family dog in the spotlight on occasion.
Alan Jackson’s family was also emotional as they watched from the audience. After singing the song, he took a deep breath and looked out over the crowd. It was an emotion-fueled moment, but not anything compared to when he claimed his trophy.
When he received the trophy, he joked: “A few years ago one of my fans named their dog after me, and I thought that was something, but this really is amazing.”
He went on to say: “I do wanna especially thank one person that’s been my best friend since I was 17 years old, and that’s my wife Denise out there. She’s loved me through the good and the bad, the happy and the sad, influenced me, given me three beautiful daughters and helped me keep my feet on the ground all these years.”
He then choked up as he admitted that he would not have been where he was if it were not for his wife.
Moments like this only come once-in-a-lifetime, and we are so happy that we were there to see it.
