Many people have made bold statements regarding the recent election in the United States. Regardless of the side they were on, they may have even threatened to leave the United States if their candidate didn’t win.
It seems as if Ellen DeGeneres has made good on that promise, as the reports are that she has packed up her things, and left the United States with her wife, Portia de Rossi.
DeGeneres has been a longtime resident of Montecito, California but they may have left that area in favor of moving to England. Reports are that they have moved to Coldwolds, and are now living with other celebrities, such as David and Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss, and Hugh Grant.
The couple, who have been married for 16 years made the big move some 5000 miles across the pond for a specific reason. DeGeneres, who was an outspoken advocate of Kamala Harris is upset because Donald Trump won the presidency.
It’s not only the fact that they have moved and sources say that their mansion in Montecito will soon go on the market, the former talk show host and comedian said that she will ‘never’ return to the United States again.
Although the primary thought among many is that they moved due to Trump’s win there are others who point out that they had already purchased their home in Cotswold, before the election.
DeGeneres was a supporter of Kamala Harris, and she even spoke about the upcoming election on Instagram, saying: “There’s nothing more powerful than a woman whose time has come!! I can’t wait for @KamalaHarris to be our next president.”
Others have also left the United States in favor of living in other countries. Some have done so reportedly because of the presidential election in the United States, and others for personal reasons.
This will be an interesting one to watch.
