When many of us think about Ed Sheeran, the first thing that we think of is his music. He certainly does have a way of keeping us entertained, but there is also a man and his life behind the music.
Like any celebrity, Ed Sheeran is going to go through his ups and downs but he always tries to put a positive face forward. As you are about to see, however, there are times when things go so wrong that it almost makes him stop what he does best.
Unfortunately, his wife was diagnosed with cancer last year when she was pregnant with their second child. It is something that affected him on a very profound level, despite the fact that he kept it to himself for the most part.
His wife, Cherry Seaborn has been a part of his life since 2019. They got together in 2015 but they decided to tie the knot a few years later.
When Cherry was diagnosed with cancer last year while pregnant, it turned the entire family upside down. It was also doubly difficult, because his best friend had died this same month.
In a recent interview, he talked about his wife’s health and said that it was really bad and then suddenly, his friend died.
His wife then spoke about it, saying: “I got diagnosed with cancer at the start of the year….,” she said. “It made me massively reflect on our mortality. I would never agree to do anything like this, but it made me think, ‘Oh if I died, what’s people’s perception of me? What do you leave behind?’”
She continued: “For Ed, the whole point is he wants to say to people, ‘I’m not just this music machine. I’m not just this robot that tries to get No. 1. I’m a father, I’m a son, I’m a friend.’ It wasn’t until this year when I was like, ‘I might die.’”
Fortunately, she was able to go through surgery and deliver their second child. It took some time, but it seems as if she is doing okay. We wish them the best in the future.
