We sometimes think about how much we are privileged when we are in front of someone who is famous and they are performing for us. Something similar is true when a famous individual performs before someone who is even more famous.
Can you imagine standing on the stage and singing in front of one of your idols? It would be difficult to keep your composure, but that is exactly how Ed Sheerin felt when he stood on the stage and performed one of the greatest songs ever written.
It took place at an award show and he was on the stage with his guitar in order to deliver a rendition of a timeless classic written by the Beatles, ‘In My Life’. As the music filled the room where he was performing, there was Someone in the audience who stood out.
Included among the spectators were Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. Many of us would have cracked under the pressure but that was not the case with Ed. He maintained his poise and delivered a rendition of the song that was absolutely on point.
It’s one thing to sing in front of the person that you admire the most but it’s yet another when they give their approval. He certainly got that, because both of them were moved visibly and they reacted with admiration.
