Women around the world have been hoping for the opportunity to marry Ed Sheeran and if you happen to be in that number, you are about to be disappointed. It seems as if Sheeran married his fiancé, Cherry Seaborn in a low-key wedding that took place sometime before Christmas. The 28-year-old singer married his childhood friend and a small gathering with only 40 friends and family present for the occasion.
It was only about a year ago that Sheeran announced on Instagram that he had been engaged to Cherry. He had known her since high school and they have been dating since 2015. The engagement also took place in the month of December and he fueled some rumors about the wedding after he was spotted wearing the ring on his left hand in February 2018.

According to one source: “Ed got married a few days before Christmas. It was very quiet – just Ed’s oldest school pals, limited family, and the priest. There were only 40 people – so no Taylor Swift, record company executives or any royals or pop star pals. He wanted no fuss and he wanted it to be something entirely for them – just a tiny winter wedding. Neither of them was that fussed about making a big deal about it. Cherry just wanted to get it out of the way without any problems or intrusions.”

The source also said that they were planning a festival style wedding for celebrity friends to attend in this summer. Many of them had not been told about the secret wedding. In August, during an interview, he said that he had to deny claims that he had married Cherry, even though he was wearing a wedding ring. “What about the wedding details? Have you picked a date? Do you know where? Do you know when yet?” Sheeran was asked.

He didn’t refuse to answer, he just replied: “I never really do anything too public anyway.” This only served to spark more interest in the possibilities. “I’m very sorry, I can’t say anything. We try and keep as anonymous as possible for obvious reasons. I do apologize, but I just don’t give interviews on anything like that,” he’d said.

“I am not going to comment because we really do want to be as private as possible. I am sorry. I know you have got a job to do – but I haven’t seen it. I am not really into all that stuff. Sorry about that,” concluded Sheeran’s father.
He was seen leaving the BRIT Awards in February wearing a wedding ring. This helped to get the rumors going about his marriage. Later, he said that the ring on his finger was an engagement ring that was given to him by his fiancée.
He also said that he will quit music and singing when he becomes a father. “My ambition is going to go to zero as soon as I have kids. I am going to be like, ‘I do not really care anymore as I have another life to take care of.’ It is totally understandable because you have children and your ambition shifts to be like, ‘I want to be a good father’.”

Sheeran has been vocal about his loss of passion to perform. He said: “To be honest my ambition is dwindling a little bit because I have achieved far more than I thought I ever would. I do not know what to do next. I feel like when you play a stadium you cannot play any bigger than that because what do you do? Sell 15million albums? What do you do on your next album? My ambition next is a silly small ambition to write a country music song that goes to number one on country radio in America. I know that is not like playing Wembley Stadium, but for me, that is the next thing.”

In a biography about the singer, the earliest songs that he wrote were about the death of a friend. This included We Are, which was never on any of his albums but it was written about his friend, Stuart Dines who died on a ski trip in 2006.

In the new book, author Sean Smith wrote: Ed had to come to terms with the death of someone he saw practically every day. He resolved to write a song about his feelings. He composed it, he said, ‘whilst I got round to actually accepting it’.” Dines’ father Robert was quoted as saying: “Ed was very, very upset, like a lot of the children. Sheeran later referred to the track as “the song that actually got me a record deal.”
