Many people look to Dolly Parton as an inspiration and over the years, she has entertained us in ways that keep us tapping our toes. That doesn’t mean that she is above difficulty, and she is now mourning the loss of her brother.
Dolly Parton’s brother, David Parton passed away on November 15. He was 82 years old and he died in his home in White Pine, Tennessee.
Their sister, Stella, went on X to share the news and express her thoughts on his passing. She was comforted in the fact that he passed away peacefully.
Dolly has yet to give a statement about the loss, but we are sure it is forthcoming.
My brother David passed away peacefully this morning. It’s never easy to say goodbye to a loved one but he got his angel wings and is now at peace.

Stella said that David was a kind, loyal, and soft-spoken individual. She referred him lovingly as ‘Sweet David’, as did many others who knew him personally.
Something else that Stella brought out was that her brother had served in the Marine Corps, but he went on to be a bridge-building superintendent for Simpson Construction. He would work on many large projects near Kingsport, Knoxville, and Johnson City.
My brother David was always referred to as sweet David because of his kindness, loyalty and soft spoken demeanor. He was also a US Marine.
