Triplet Born ‘Still In Womb’ Amazes The Doctors

When you have the opportunity to witness the birth of a newborn child, you can’t help but think about how much of a miracle it truly is. For nine months, the baby grows inside of the mother and when he or she finally makes an appearance to the world, it is enough to bring tears to your eyes. Any baby is a blessing but one mother has a claim to something that very few other people can say in their life. In fact, it was so rare that the majority of doctors will never see it happen.

We sometimes hear about incredible things happening during childbirth but Dr. Rodrigo da Rosa Filho was able to film the birth and to share it with the world. When you see the little girl being born, as part of a set of triplets, you can’t help but be taken back by the occurrence of that day. Considering the fact that childbirth is such a personal and private moment, the images and video shared on this page are sensitive, yet well worth viewing.

Adeline is a baby girl who was born en-caul. In other words, she was born completely encapsulated inside of the amniotic sac. All babies grow inside of the amniotic sac but very few of them are born with it still intact. Adaline was only in there for a few minutes, because the doctor did the right thing and popped it like a balloon.

Joaquim is Adeline’s brother and he was also born with the sac intact and was also freed from it quickly. When Adeline was born, however, she was still sound asleep and the doctor didn’t need to rush things. They encouraged her to wake up but she just didn’t seem ready to face the world at that moment.

The odds of having a baby born en-caul are quite rare because it only happens one out of every 80,000 births and most of them are premature deliveries. Some doctors believe that being inside of the sac during childbirth helps to protect those premature babies against the strong contractions the mother may be experiencing.

Adaline gives us a birds-eye view of what it must be like to live inside of the womb. The sac is practically clear. As you watch the video, you will see one of the nurses trying to tickle Adaline’s feet but she just doesn’t want to wake up. We still get to see her moving about.

The doctor had his Instagram post translated where he is saying: “Yesterday we birthed the triplets! And Joaquim was born veiled (when the waters/sac does not break). We were delighted. But then came Adeline…she was also born en caul and left us all admiring her as she slept soundly. We stayed (that way) for seven minutes observing her behavior as if it were still inside her belly. It’s the magic of life.”

Adeline stayed inside of the sac for at least seven minutes before she was ready to come out. She may only be a few minutes old at that point but she was giving the performance of a lifetime.
