Cynthia Erivo, star of Wicked is known for her acting abilities but she is now also known for being able to handle an inappropriate comment. It happened when she was giving an interview and someone asked the wrong question.
The 37-year-old actress, who is set to play the Wicked Witch of the West in the movie, Wicked, was on hand to give that interview. She was a guest on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast and he took the questioning a little too far.
Specifically, he wanted to ask her a ‘really crazy’ question about her long fingernails. It was inappropriate, to say the least.
He asked: “When you’re wiping your butt…” But he was cut short. Cynthia said: “I knew you would ask that question.”
She then came up with the perfect response, saying that ‘nobody uses just their fingers to wipe their backside.’ She then answered a question with a question, asking him: “You use tissue, correct? And you wipe!”
That wasn’t enough to stop the interviewer and he kept asking her how she held the toilet paper and whether she used the tips of the fingernails. She responded by saying that she uses the ‘pads of the fingers’ and then added: “I’m a functioning adult.”
She also said that she has never walked around smelling.
Shepard continued: “Great, great, great, now we’re getting somewhere. Then you’re just feeling the little tickle of the nails on the crack of your butt sometimes?”
She said that wasn’t the case because she uses tissues. He joked that he would make a mitten out of toilet paper if he had long nails and asked if she was offended by the question.
She answered: “I’m annoyed by it. I’m, like, ‘Come on, guys.”
Well done on the answer and you can’t blame her for being annoyed!
