Many people consider gospel music to be sacred. They would never cross the line between gospel music and any other genre, but when it does happen, we might be surprised by what we hear.
As an example, Disturbed performed a cover of a song that may not be gospel, but it is considered to be holy by many. That song, The Sound of Silence breached the walls and that cover was a crossing between a soft ballad and hard rock.
Dan Vasc has now taken things even further with his cover of Amazing Grace. That gospel song is one of the most popular of all time and was written back in 1779. It is considered untouchable by many, but you might be surprised by what you hear in this cover.
When Dan Vasc stood at the microphone and performed the song, he did it in a way that most people probably wouldn’t have believed. Known for his thrashing, strong voice, he showed once and for all that he was a talented singer on many levels.
In providing this video, he shows that there is room for genres to blend and you can even cross over the line at times in a beautiful way. Many are comparing it to what Disturbed did with Sound of Silence, but others say that it is different in an amazing way.
