If you are a parent or if you just happen to know one, you realize that it is not exactly the easiest job in the world. From the time the baby is born, our lives are changed and they will never be the same. As they get older, additional challenges come up, such as the need to teach the child and at times, even to discipline them. It’s a part of parenthood that not everybody loves but in the end, it does help teach the child how to be a productive, happy and wise adult.
Every once in a while, we hear about a parent who takes things to the extreme when it comes to discipline. Timothy Robenhorst is a father who matches that description according to many. He learned that his son, Kayden was bullying a classmate repeatedly and he decided he needed to do something about it. He came up with the discipline, which included a public apology to the classmate and an exercise routine that starts at 4:30 AM every morning. Kayden would also be responsible for landscaping at two of his father’s homes.
If that wasn’t enough, the father decided that Kayden needed even more of an attitude adjustment. He realized that bullying has an emotional impact on other children, so he wanted the punishment to fit the crime. He made his son pose in a picture and then posted it to the son’s Facebook profile.
Kayden’s parents also posted this message with the picture:
“This is what happens when dad finds out you are being a bully at school. My golden rule is you don’t start fights or touch anyone unless they lay hands on you first. Feel free to tell Kayden how wrong it is to be a bully or share stories to help him understand the effects of these actions on the victims. DO NOT ATTACK MY SON THIS IS TO BE A POSITIVE ACTION NOT NEGATIVE. *******PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SHARE THIS AS WELL TO HELP STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING OTHER PLACES AS WELL! THANK YOU!”
I guess everybody’s definition of discipline is different.
