Baseball Legend Pete Rose Has Died At 83

The death of anyone is always a sad event but when it happens to a sports celebrity loved by millions, it has quite an impact. That is what we are not experiencing with the loss of Pete Rose.

Pete Rose, who is known as one of the greatest and most beloved baseball players of all time has passed away at the age of 83. Fans from around the world are mourning his death.

The majority of the time Rose spent playing baseball he played with the Cincinnati Reds. He was a switch hitter and holds the MLB record for hits, with 4256.

Rose continued to play ball from 1963 till 1986, winning 3 world title series, playing in 17 all-star games, and winning two Gold Gloves.

Things took a turn in 1989 when Rose received a lifetime ban from baseball from betting on games, including on his own team when managing the Reds. The ban kept him out of the Baseball Hall of Fame.

After Rose passed away on September 30, there was some speculation as to the cause of his death. The official cause of death has now been released, hypertension and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

News came from the Clark County (Nevada) Coroner’s Office, in which they discussed the cause of death. The issue is explained as a type of heart disease that can occur due to increased strain on the heart associated with long-term untreated high blood pressure.

Atherosclerosis occurs due to plaque buildup inside of the arteries, causing them to harden. It can also cause decreased blood flow and could result in stroke or heart attack.
