A Flower With Petals That Look Like Hummingbirds

There are many reasons to appreciate the planet where we live but perhaps diversity in the world around us is something that catches your attention. It really doesn’t matter what direction you are looking in or what particular thing you are looking at, there is going to be diversity in the way that it looks, acts or feels. We see it in the animal kingdom quite frequently but we also see it and everything else from the weather to microscopic life. As it turns out, flowers are also something worthy of our attention, particularly the flower that was shared in this story.

It happened on Reddit when a photograph was shared by OctopusPrime. People were rather confused over what they were seeing but at the same time, they were absolutely fascinated by the possibilities. The picture showed a green flower that looked more like a lot of little hummingbirds than a plant. A comment by the author was included: “Check out these flowers that look like tiny hummingbirds!” People were quick to check them out!

A picture was recently shared on Reddit and people were fascinated by it.

The picture was so interesting that it received tens of thousands of upvotes in a single day and hundreds of comments. Most people had questions about the type of flower that it is and others were doing their best to provide answers. One person seemed to have all the answers when somebody asked why the flower looked that way.

Crotalaria cunninghamii is the actual name of the plant but most people either call it a regal birdflower or a green birdflower. You can find it in northern Australia near the beach in sandy areas. At one time, it was used by aboriginal people for the treatment of eye infections.

Some still seem to have a little confusion about the flower but more answers were forthcoming.
