A Beloved Family Band Member Has Passed Away At 73

The death of a celebrity is something that can have an impact on many people. This is especially true when they have been known for decades.

One of the members of the Utah-based musical group, ‘The Osmonds’ has passed away. Wayne Osmond died on January 1 at the age of 73 according to a family spokesperson.

According to a statement that was released: “His legacy of faith, music, love, and laughter have influenced the lives of many people around the world. He would want everyone to know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true, that families are forever, and that banana splits are the best dessert. We love him and will miss him dearly.”

Wayne Osmond was born on August 28, 1949 in Utah. He was number four in line out of nine children who were born in the Osmond family.

He got started with music when he was very young along with his brothers and they got famous in the 1960s when they appeared on The Andy Williams Show. Along with his brothers, Alan, Merrill, Jay, Donny, and Jimmy, they formed the band, ‘The Osmonds’.

Wayne had a lot of musical abilities, playing the guitar, flute, and some other instruments. He helped to write some of the songs and contributed to the harmony that made the family band famous.

In the 1970s, The Osmonds became famous worldwide with hits, including “One Bad Apple,” “Crazy Horses,” and “Love Me for a Reason.” Eventually, they would also venture into rock and country music.

Wayne performed but he also co-wrote a number of the songs. This includes a concept album that reflected their faith as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Wade had five children with his wife Kathlyn Louise White, who was a former Miss Utah.

Over the years, Wayne would face a number of health problems, including being diagnosed with a brain tumor in 1997. He continued to stay optimistic and showed his resilience as he inspired his loved ones and fans worldwide.

Wayne Osmond is the first of the siblings in the Osmond family to pass away. He is survived by his brothers Virl, Tom, Alan, Merrill, Jay, Donny, and Jimmy, as well as his sister Marie.
