Technology has changed our lives in so many different ways. Some of us may feel at least a little bit annoyed over technology, feeling as if it has changed our lives and perhaps even intruded on our lives in some way or another. It certainly is true that technology is constantly changing and it is sometimes difficult to keep up with it. We also have our choices of different technology, especially when it comes to home devices. Between Google, Alexa, and Cortina, it seems as if we are always asking someone (or something) to answer questions for us.
Of course, if you happen to have Alexa in your home, you realize that it is a wonderful tool. It offers you the ability to communicate in a very unique way, and it may also be able to save your life. That fact became obvious when a grandmother by the name of Natalie Neil was enjoying a day with her five-year-old grandson, Tyrion. He typically lives an hour away from her with her daughter, Jasmine Neil. They are a Pennsylvania family, and they now love Alexa more than they ever thought possible.
“I just thought for you know, him to tell me, ‘Hey grandmom, I love you. Hey Gigi, I love you,’” Neal told WPVI-TV. “A week and a half later, he’s calling because he can’t wake his mom up, so it was a very smart thing to do without knowing I was being smart.”
As you would expect, Tyrion was accustomed to using Alexa and it wasn’t long before he was communicating with her regularly. On September 20, however, Tyrion gave Natalie a call, and at first she thought he was joking. As it turns out, he was crying and he said he couldn’t wake up his mother.
Jasmine has epileptic seizures on occasion and she was having a serious seizure that day. Tyrion was afraid, so he used Alexa to call his grandmother and she contacted 911. In the end, a life was saved and it was all due to the quick thinking of a young lad and the technology that he was accustomed to using.
