When a Hollywood romance gets started, we often stand back and wonder how long it is going to last. In many cases, it seems to be justified because the marriage seems to break up almost as quickly as it got started. It isn’t always because they didn’t start out with a strong love for each other. That is the same as it is in any good relationship. The problem is, there is so much pressure on both of them because of fame and being in the spotlight that it just seems to make the relationship crack right down the middle.
Of course, that isn’t the case with every Hollywood couple, including one that has stood the test of time. When Sam Elliot got his start, it was playing in western movies but they didn’t last long. He got his first big break in ‘Mask’ and he hasn’t looked back since. Although that movie might not have been exactly what he was looking to do on the silver screen, it did give him the opportunity to see his success hit a new high. That isn’t even to mention something else he is well known for, his love and marriage to Katharine Ross.
In an interview from 1985, Elliot talked about his carreer along with discussing the love of his life, Katharine Ross. He said that he had it all, success, a great carreer, and a beautiful bride. It’s a nice thing to hear someone who could have had his pick of the litter talk about the one woman that knocked him off his feet.
