23-Yr-Old With Piercings And Face Tattoos Is Fuming That A Store Rejected Her Job Application

One of the difficulties that many young people face these days is finding a job. It seems as if everybody is complaining about the worker shortage but at the same time, many applications and resumes are ignored.

A TikTok enthusiast named Ash O’Brien spoke out about this recently when she found it difficult to get a job at T.J. Maxx. The 23-year-old shared her experience on TikTok, and she got people talking.

Ash has over 97,000 followers on that social media video outlet. She was so upset about being turned down for a job that it has turned into somewhat of a debate.

In the three-minute-long rant video, she began by saying: “I applied to TJ Maxx a few weeks ago and they denied my application. They couldn’t even call me. They just sent me some automated email.”

She was annoyed with the way they turned her down, so she went into the store to ask one of the managers face-to-face for an explanation as to why she didn’t get the job.

When asked for the reason why she did get hired, the manager said that she didn’t have enough experience and there were candidates with more experience than her. Ash felt that there was more to the story.

Specifically, she wondered if the tattoos on her face and body along with her piercings kept her from getting the job. The manager said that it was not a consideration.

She said: “I asked her if it was ‘cause of my tattoos, ‘cause obviously a lot of places don’t like tattoos.

“She said that wasn’t the reason. I don’t feel like that’s true but whatever I’ll leave it at that.”

She then went on to wonder if she’s the only person experiencing this type of trouble. She expressed that she had seen people in Europe with tattoos and piercings and they get jobs a lot easier than people do in the United States.

Since being posted, some 8.5 million people have watched it and many have commented.

Many commenters said that they love having tattoos as well. Others, however, pointed out the obvious that it was absolutely about her tattoos and nobody in a PR position would want that as the face of their company when dealing with the public.
